How to properly use EV Charger to extend battery life?

1. EV Charger should be dedicated, don't change EV Charger randomly.

The EV Charger parameters of different models are basically different. Do not change the EV Charger at will when you are not sure. If it is necessary to charge in two places, it is best to ask a professional from the electric vehicle service department or repair shop to equip a dedicated EV Charger.

2. Protect the EV Charger.

The EV Charger was not designed as a vehicle-mounted EV Charger, so the current EV Charger is basically not resistant to strong vibration. In special circumstances, it must be moved, and the EV Charger must be packed with foam to prevent vibration and bumps. After many EV chargers are vibrated, their internal potentiometers will drift, causing the entire parameters to change, resulting in abnormal charging status. Another thing to note is to keep the EV Charger ventilated when charging, otherwise it will not only affect the life of the charger, but also may cause thermal drift and affect the charging state, which will damage the battery.

3. Charge frequently.

Even if your continued mileage is not long, and you can use it for 2 to 3 days with a single charge, we still recommend that you use EV Charger to charge it every day, so that the battery is in a shallow cycle state and the battery life will be prolonged. Some early mobile phone users think that it is best to charge the battery after it is basically used up. This view is wrong. The memory benefit of lead-acid batteries is not so strong. Frequent recharging after discharge has a greater impact on the life of the battery. After the indicator light changes to indicate a full charge, the battery charge may be 97% to 99%. Although only 1% to 3% of the battery is under-charged, the impact on the continuation ability is almost negligible, but under-charge accumulation will also be formed. Therefore, after the battery is fully charged, it is still possible to continue floating charge as much as possible, which is also useful for suppressing battery vulcanization. have benefits. Floating charge basically does not consume electricity.

4. Charge in time.

After the battery is discharged, the vulcanization process begins. Generally, after 12 hours, obvious vulcanization crystals appear. Use the EV Charger to charge in time to remove the non-serious sulfide crystals. If you do not charge in time, these sulfide crystals will accumulate and gradually form coarse crystals, which will gradually reduce the battery capacity and shorten the battery life. Therefore, in addition to daily charging, you should also pay attention to charging in time after use, as far as possible to make the battery power in a full state.

5. Pay attention to the charging environment.

At present, EV Chargers for electric vehicles are designed according to the ambient temperature of 25°C, so charging at 25°C is better. When the ambient temperature is really at 25°C, it is relatively low, so there must be a problem of overcharging in summer and undercharging in winter. Therefore, when charging, it is best to arrange the battery and charger in a ventilated and room temperature environment.

Through the above methods, users can greatly extend the service life of the battery.
